FACULTY

A. Aguayo, Spanish Teaching is my passion. Having the opportunity to teach students and watching them excel academically is my dream. When I'm not teaching, I love being with my family, going on hikes and dancing.		M. Alcala, 2nd Grade I've lived in Healdsburg for about 20 years and my three children have attended HUSD schools. I've been a teacher for HUSD for 17 years. I'm bilingual and love traveling.
A. Beseda, 4th Grade/STEM I'm a gardener, camper, fisher and hiker. I'm a little bit of ornery mixed with obsessive, but my family has stuck with me so I guess I've "made growth" (however, I'd like to view it as being very passionate about many things). The scariest and most amazing part of teaching is knowing that each of your students is someone's "whole world". They come to us with different personalities and abilities and the only way to do right by our families is to try to help each one of them improve and become their best version of themselves.		A. E. Coleman, Kindergarten When I'm not having fun teaching, I love to run, read, dance, paint, and explore outside. One day I hope to illustrate a children's book.		S. E. Desepte, Education Specialist, Reading Intervention Teacher I grew up in Healdsburg and am a HUSD Alumn! I am honored to have the opportunity to be involved in my community through teaching at my old campuses! I love how authentically themselves children are and I enjoy building relationships with them. Helping students grow into confident, kind, and skilled people is my "why" for teaching. When I am not at work, I love reading a good book, being active outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.		S. Feith, 4th Grade/Humanities I was raised in Healdsburg and graduated from Healdsburg High School. I've been working in HUSD for 26 years and truly love teaching 4th grade. The opportunity to create a classroom family brings me so much joy and watching my students grow academically and socially is amazing. When I'm not at school, I enjoy traveling, camping, reading, watching sports, and spending quality time with my family.

B. Hatten, 2nd Grade When I'm not at work, I enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and kayaking. Sonoma County is such a beautiful place to spend time outdoors.		M. Hernandez, Transitional Kindergarten I love teaching and seeing children blossom!I have spent the past 21years teaching at HUSD. I enjoy reading new books, hiking and going on adventures. When I am not teaching, you will see me walking around Cloverdale or drinking coffee with my husband.
K Heien, 1st Grade		L. Keith, 3rd Grade/STEM I am a Sonoma County native who enjoys exploring our beautiful county with friends and family, through activities like disk golf, hiking, kayaking, camping and running. Outside of teaching, my passion lies in exercise, athletics, gardening and traveling. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to teach here in Healdsburg and help our students grow socially, emotionally and academically everyday!
C. Kuckuk RSP Teacher After growing up in the area, and then spending many years in the Midwest for college and grad school, I absolutely love being "home" again! I have been teaching special education and intervention for over 10 years. I love helping students become more independent, realize their strengths and passions, and how to advocate for themselves. I'm extremely passionate about providing an inclusive environment to all students, and collaborating with colleagues to help every student succeed. In my free time, I love traveling, practicing my Spanish, reading, boating, and spending time with my three young children, who are involved in everything from sports, to 4H, to music and dance.		A. Lyon, 5th Grade I've been a teacher since 2008 and absolutely love being part of the team at FMC! When I'm not teaching, I love being outdoors in nature - hiking, running, and biking by myself and with my husband and two sons. Reading is one of my other favorite things to do, and I love getting to share that love with my students
D. McCormick, 4th Grade My favorite things about teaching are building students' confidence in learning and celebrating their progress! When I'm not teaching, I'm spending time with my husband, two girls and the rest of our huge family. We are always getting together to enjoy pretty much anything involving music, dancing, and food! D. Nuñez, 5th Grade/STEM When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids. My kids keep me busy with their 4-H and FFA projects as well as sports. We love camping, fishing, and riding our ATV's.		A. Pacheco, 1st Grade I love encouraging students to be life long learners. It's important for me to nurture independence and confidence in all my students.
N. Padilla , Kindergarten		C. Petereit, 2nd Grade I love spending time outdoors - running, working in my garden, and taking hikes. I have always been fortunate to have a job that I love doing. Time outside and time with kids is a perfect combination.
L. Phipps, 5th Grade/Humanities I have lived in Healdsburg for over 20 years. I have raised my two kids here and love everything this town has to offer, from the many parades to the free music! The FFA fair is my favorite weekend! I love spending as much time as possible in my garden when the weather is nice. If it's too cold, I will spend the day making quilts		L. Pillinini, 5th Grade/STEM When I am not at HES, I enjoy being with my family and my pets. We love to camp, ski, and go out to dinner together. My favorite part of the evening is sitting in the hot tub and listening to my family's stories.
L. Pinney, 3rd-5th Grade Spanish I believe language is the key to unlocking understanding of culture and highly value being bilingual. I bring this passion to my teaching, encouraging all students to strive towards bilingualism. When I am not teaching, I love to hike, camp, and spend time with my family and friends.		J. Poore, 3rd Grade/ Humanities My passion is instilling a love of reading and writing. I believe that being proficient in these skills unlocks a world of possibilities and opportunities. I enjoy being creative and innovative in meeting student needs and helping students become the best they can be. In my free time, I like to camp and hike with my family, paint, and make jewelry.
J. Pruitt, 1st Grade		C. Seghetti, 3rd Grade/Humanities I am a second generation teacher. I love being a part of education because I get to see students grow in all sorts of different ways, such as socially, emotionally and academically. It is really amazing to be a part of their transformation. Outside of the class, I like to enjoy nature by hiking and riding my bike! I also love to spend time with my family and friends.
K. Wong, 4th Grade I love teaching all subjects, especially Science and Math. My goal is to create a love of learning for all students both inside the classroom and out. Teaching is a second career for me. I was in Public Relations and Marketing for high tech companies before I dove into teaching. When I am not in the classroom, I love spending time with my husband of 25+ years and our two sons. My hobbies include gardening, hiking, traveling, scrapbooking, and being outdoors. I am a graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and National University. Being involved in my community is very important to me and is why I have been a Den Leader for Cub Scouts, soccer coach, WHS Swim Coach, and am on many committees to support student activities such as WHS Project Grad.
